British Bangladeshi filmmaker Munsur Ali was honoured with a prize for Contribution to Film and Media at the British Bangladesh Who’s Who 2015 awards ceremony.
Ali, who is the CEO for the Limelight Film Awards, one of the largest independent short film awards in the UK, also recently won a Civic Award for the same. His highly-anticipated film Shongram, starring Anupam Kher, Asia Argento, Amaan Reza and Dilruba Yasmeen Ruhee, is slated for release in the UK in March 2016. He also launched the London Bangali Film Festival, a celebration of films by and for the Bengali diaspora, which is scheduled to take place in London in February.
