Facts you didn’t know about Moushumi

Dhallywood starlet Moushumi appeared in an incredible number of films in the industry. She worked in more than 150 films over her two-decade career. Although she is one of the most popular in her field, some facts probably still remains unrevealed to her fans.
Born as Arifa Parvin, Moushumi came into limelight after winning a beauty pageant titled Anondo Bichitra Photo Beauty contest, organised by a magazine. The award paved her way into the media, where she appeared in various types of programmes on television in the 90s.
Alhough Moushumi was selected as the first runner-up by the jury board in the contest while Chanda won the pageant, it was the immense number of public votes that helped her bag the award.
Eldest of three daughters in her family, she possessed exceptional traits of acting and singing from her very childhood.
The versatile actress’ latest endeavour is fashion designing. She established her very own fashion house The Levis.
Her directorial debut is Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti, released in 2003. Later, she jointly directed another feature Meher Negar with Gulzar.
She also did a good number of playbacks in her films.
She runs a charity called Moushumi Welfare Foundation. She was also named the UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 2013.
