Krishnopokkho, an adaptation of late Humayun Ahmed’s novel of the same title is all set to hit cinemas on February 26. The film has been directed by his widow Meher Afroz Shaon.
The film stars Mahiya Mahi and Riaz in the lead, while supporting cast includes Ferdous Ahmed, Tania Ahmed, Moutushi Biswas, Azad Abul Kalam, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Kayes Chowdhury and Faruk Ahmed.
The film is a story of love and it’s journey, depicting a love unalloyed, uncorrupted and unfinished. Fated to meet a fatal car crash on the day after their wedding, soon after, the life of a couple hangs in the balance of sweeping uncertainty.
Initially, the film was intended to be released on November 13 of last year, marking the iconic writer’s birthday. However, shooting could not be wrapped up in time as the lead actor Riaz fell terribly ill while shooting.
The film recently received clearance from the censor board after being submitted for approval on December 30 last year.
A production of Impress Telefilms Ltd, the film’s songs have been tuned and composed by SI Tutul.
